Project description

Biomaterial properties are mainly manipulated at single level of hierarchy unlike the multi-leveled nature of cell functions, tissue homeostasis and regeneration. This project aims at a strategy for material design that will allow scientists to control material properties to meet the dynamic needs of tissues in the process of regeneration. By using high throughput screening and transcriptomics together with computational modelling, we aim to couple material properties to biological responses at cellular, tissue and organoid levels. The predictions of biological responses to material properties will in the end help us to engineer the biomaterials to be rather intelligent, active and responsive to the changes happening in regenerative tissue environment.

Techniques: high throughput screening, transcriptomics, computational modeling
