Dr. Miguel Dias Castilho

Dr. Miguel Castilho is an Assistant Professor of Biofabrication at the Department of Orthopedics, University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU) and a Guest Researcher at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Dr. Miguel Castilho has vast experience in digital design, 3D printing and meltelectrowriting applied to bone, cartilage and cardiovascular tissue engineering. In parallel with the research activities, Dr. Castilho personally leads the research efforts at the University Medical Center Utrecht, Netherlands, on the development of custom additive manufacturing systems for biomaterials processing and biofabrication; and is also a teacher for the EU-funded International Master on Biofabrication and for the Master programme on Regenerative Medicine & Technology, both at Utrecht University.
