MDR Workshop – Storytelling for Scientists
About the Workshop:
The “Storytelling for Scientists” is your chance to learn how to transform your research into captivating narratives. You’ll learn:
- What are stories, and (how) do they differ from the scientific narrative?
- Elements of a good story: characters, narrator, plot
- Keeping your audience engaged: add tension or a plot twist
- How can you use stories to explain your research?
Why You Should Attend:
To add an exciting twist, we’ve turned this workshop into a competition! By the end of the session, each participant will create a story, and the top three stories will have the opportunity to be turned into short videos! It will be perfect for showcasing on the MDR website (with your consent). Plus, we’ll gather input from attendees to recognize the most engaging storytellers. These standout speakers may have a chance to present at our next MDR graduate school/annual meeting, sharing their storytelling secrets.
Eligibility: This workshop is open to researchers from the MDR consortium. If you’re passionate about making your research stand out, this workshop is for you!
