Adaptive vs Mal-adaptive Scarring in the Adult Mammalian Heart
Tim Koopmans started his PhD at the University of Groningen, Netherlands, where he worked on airway fibrosis and remodeling. He did his first Postdoc in the lab of Yuval Rinkevich at the Helmholtz Institute in Munich, Germany, where he continued to work on the molecular basis of fibrosis in a different organ setting. He is now based at the Hubrecht Institute, first in the lab of Kerstin Bartscherer, and currently in the lab of Eva van Rooij, where he developed a new animal model to study adaptive fibrosis in the injured heart.
