Introduction MDR PhD student: Aref Saberi
Hello everyone, my name is Aref Saberi. I am from Iran and I have been living in the Netherlands for the past 10 years. I obtained my Bachelors and Masters in Biomedical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology. During my Master’s graduation project, in the group of Prof. Carlijn Bouten and Dr. Nicholas Kurniawan, I developed methods to culture physiologically relevant three-dimensional neuronal cultures. After that, I did a 6 month research internship at Stanford University, in the laboratory of Prof. Zhenan Bao, where I focused on developing flexible micro-electronics. More than a year ago, I started my PhD under the supervision of Prof. Bouten and Dr. Kurniawan where I intend to combine flexible electronics with 3D neuronal cultures to enable electrical manipulation and recording of them. In my free time, I like to listen or play music, go to the gym, meet up with friends and cook.
