Interview MDR PhD student: Jasper Aarts

Who are you, what is your background and how did you get involved in MDR?

My name is Jasper Aarts. I studied Biomedical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technologie. I recently started as a PhD student in the Biomedical Materials and Chemistry group of Prof. Patricia Dankers.

Tell us a little bit more about the research you are planning to do within MDR.

My research is focussed on the high throughput screening of supramolecular biomaterials. In addition we will use machine learning to improve on the synthesis fo these biomaterials.

Who is your biggest example in science and why?

Stephen Hawking is a great inspiration for me, not per se for his reseacht but definitely for his positivity.

What do you do in your free time and how can we recognize the typical Jasper?

In my free time you will most likely find me on the hockey pitch.
